Clinical Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, and Cytogenetics.

Prof. (Dr.) Kumar Satish Ravi is a distinguished academician, researcher, and administrator with more than two decades of dedicated service in the field of Anatomy. He serves as Additional Principal and Professor & Head of the Department of Anatomy at the National Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMS), Jaipur, India, and is also an Adjunct Professor of Anatomy at KMC Mangalore, MAHE Manipal. Dr. Ravi earned his MD in Anatomy from JIPMER and completed his Ph.D. in Cytogenetics from AIIMS Rishikesh. He is a FAIMER Fellow (Manipal University) and a Fellow of the International Medical Science Academy (IMSA). Throughout his career, he has held several key academic and administrative positions, including Sub-Dean (Academics), Assistant Dean (Academics), Additional Proctor, Controller of Examinations, and Course Director at premier institutions such as AIIMS Rishikesh, AIIMS Gorakhpur, and Spartan Health Sciences University, North America. A recipient of numerous accolades—such as the Best Teacher Award (2018), Best Professor of the Year Award (2021), Young Researcher Award, Distinguished Teacher Award (ASI & SOCA), and the Anga Rachana Vaidya Vibhishana Award—Dr. Ravi is widely recognized for his contributions to Anatomy and Medical Education. An accomplished researcher, he has authored over 120 publications in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science indexed journals, accumulating nearly 1600 citations. He has contributed five book chapters and delivered more than 40 invited lectures at national and international conferences. His editorial work includes serving as Editor for Snell’s Clinical Neuroanatomy (2nd South Asian Edition), Exam Prep Manual: Neuroanatomy, Textbook of Histology (Elsevier), and Visualization of Neuroanatomical Sciences (Springer Nature). He has also reviewed major anatomical texts including Gray’s Anatomy (International Edition) and Netter’s Atlas of Human Anatomy (International Edition). Currently, Dr. Ravi is the Editor-in-Chief of the National Journal of Clinical Anatomy, which he successfully guided to DOAJ, SCOPUS, SJR, Web of Science, and ESCI indexing. He is a life member of SOCA, ASI, ISHG, and over 15 other professional bodies, and is a regular member of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists (AACA) and the American Association for Anatomy (AAA). Additionally, he contributes to academic governance as a member of FICSP (IFAA), Board of Studies at AIIMS Madurai and AIIMS Rishikesh, and serves as an NMC Inspector, examiner, and expert across India. Through his exemplary teaching, extensive research, and dedicated leadership, Prof. (Dr.) Kumar Satish Ravi continues to inspire students, mentor young anatomists, and advance the global field of Clinical Anatomy.
