Biography

Dr. Fernandez is a Board-Certified Cardiovascular Anesthesiologist and Cardiac Critical Care Physician with more than two decades of experience in cardiac anesthesia and postoperative cardiac intensive care. After becoming a Cardiovascular Anesthesiologist in South America by the age of 30, he completed his anesthesia residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in the United States. Since 2006, Dr. Fernandez has been managing complex cardiac anesthesia and post-open heart surgery recovery at Winter Haven Hospital, Florida, performing over 300 cardiac procedures annually, including CABGs, valve replacements, TAVRs, Mitral Clip, Watchman, and other advanced structural heart interventions. Dr. Fernandez holds subspecialty certification in Adult Cardiac Anesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology and certification in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography. He also completed a Functional Medicine Fellowship at the University of South Florida. In addition to his clinical work, he founded Hyperflow Medical LLC, a company focused on advanced diagnostic ultrasound screening services. His expertise includes cardiac anesthesiology, structural heart procedures, echocardiography, postoperative cardiac intensive care, and metabolic cardiology.
