Dr. Liu is a distinguished leader in education and a scholar with extensive expertise ineducational administration, curriculum design, and school governance. Currentlyserving as the Principal of St-Johannes College, she manages both the Primary andKindergarten sectors.She obtained her dual Doctor of Education (EdD) from Vern’ University and IBES(2023–2025), attained a Master of Education in Leadership and Administration fromThe Chinese University of Hong Kong (2008–2010), earned a Bachelor of Science inMathematics from Hong Kong Baptist University (2002–2006), and got a Certificatefor Principal-ship.With nearly twenty years dedicated to enhancing education landscape in Hong Kong,Dr. Liu has held prominent leadership positions, including Secondary School Principalat Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary andPrimary School, as well as Chief Principal at Merchiston International School, whereshe supervised three K-12 campuses in Shenzhen. She implements extensiveeducational programs that adhere to both local and international curricula for childrenaged 2 to 18.Throughout her career, Dr. Liu has demonstrated exceptional capabilities in areas suchas school leadership, curriculum development, assessment strategies, staff training andprofessional growth, financial resource management, and building relationship withlocal and global communities. Additionally, she contributes to higher education as aguest lecturer at The Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong MetropolitanUniversity, and Hong Kong Baptist University, where she guides aspiring educators inleadership, management and Mathematics education. She is also the author ofMathematics in Focus, published by Educational Publishing House, continuing hercontributions to the field of Mathematics Education.As the founder and chairperson of ConnectEdU Future Limited Company and theconvener of the BEYOND sub-committee under The Hong Kong Council for EarlyChildhood Education Services, Dr. Liu is committed to fostering educational innovationand multicultural cooperation. Driven by a passion for nurturing future leadersequipped with creativity, critical thinking abilities, and a global outlook, Dr. Liuremains dedicated to promoting educational excellence and innovation within HongKong and beyond.
Hong Kong's education system is currently undergoing a significant transformation, driven bythe integration of new curriculum guidelines and digital technology policies designed tocultivate 21st-century skills and innovative teaching practices. Despite these advancements, theprevalence of passive pedagogies—characterized by rote learning and teacher-centeredinstruction—continues to impede the development of critical thinking and active engagementamong students. This situation highlights the urgent need for transformative leadershipstrategies that can effectively reconcile the vision for innovative education with traditionalteaching methodologies.
