Biography

Prof. Dr. Noor Zaman Jhanjhi is an internationally renowned academic, distinguished researcher, and visionary leader in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Innovation, and Intelligent Systems. He currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity) at the School of Engineering and Technology (FET), Sunway University, Malaysia. Throughout his academic career, he has held several strategic leadership positions, including Director of the Centre for Intelligent Innovation (CII), Director of the Centre for Centre for Smart Society (CSS5) and Program Director for Postgraduate Research Degree Programmes, where he has played a pivotal role in advancing research excellence, postgraduate education, innovation, and international academic collaboration. In recognition of his international academic standing and scholarly expertise, Prof. Jhanjhi has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor, Visiting Professor, Distinguished Visiting Professor, and Research Fellow at several leading universities and research centres worldwide. Through these appointments, he has fostered international research collaborations, strengthened academic partnerships, supervised postgraduate research, contributed to curriculum development, and advanced knowledge exchange across the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Innovation, and emerging technologies. Recognized globally for his exceptional research impact, Prof. Jhanjhi has been ranked among the World's Top 2% Scientists for four consecutive years (2022–2025). He is also acknowledged among Malaysia's leading computer science researchers and was ranked within the top 0.05% of scholars worldwide in the 2025 ScholarGPS rankings. His scholarly influence is reflected in an H-index of 107 (Google Scholar) and 82 (Scopus), demonstrating sustained excellence in high-impact research and scientific contributions. Prof. Jhanjhi has received numerous prestigious recognitions for his outstanding academic and research achievements, including the Outstanding Faculty Member Award from MDEC Malaysia (2022) and the Vice Chancellor's Best Research Citations Award from Taylor's University (2023). A highly accomplished author, editor, and scientific contributor, he has authored and edited more than 100 scholarly books published by internationally renowned publishers, including Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, IET, CRC Press (Taylor & Francis), IGI Global, and Bentham Science. His contributions to postgraduate education are equally distinguished. Prof. Jhanjhi has successfully supervised 45 postgraduate researchers to completion and has served as an external examiner for more than 100 doctoral and master's theses across leading universities worldwide. He also holds prominent editorial leadership roles as Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, and Editorial Board Member for several internationally recognized journals, including PeerJ Computer Science, IEEE Access, and Computers, Materials & Continua (CMC), among numerous other high-impact scientific journals. Beyond research and academic publishing, Prof. Jhanjhi has secured more than 40 international competitive research grants, delivered over 100 keynote, plenary, and invited lectures across the globe, and established himself as a leading voice in emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, and Intelligent Systems. His expertise is frequently sought by universities, governments, industries, and international organizations for strategic collaborations, research initiatives, and policy development. Prof. Jhanjhi has also made significant contributions to higher education quality assurance and international accreditation through his active involvement with globally recognized accreditation and evaluation bodies, including ABET, NCAAA, and NCEAC. His sustained commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, capacity building, and international collaboration has substantially strengthened institutional research ecosystems and postgraduate education.
