Dr. Wen-Xiu Ma is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of South Florida. He received his BSc degree in computational mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1982 and obtained his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1990.Dr. Ma received the Shanghai Qi Ming Xing Fellowship in 1993 and the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship in1994. He has held the position of University Distinguished Professor at Fudan University through the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, served as an Overseas Chair Professor at South China University of Technology, and been an Extraordinary University Professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Shanghai University of Electric Power, Shanghai Polytechnic University, Zhejiang Normal University in China, North-West University in South Africa, and King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ma's research interests include applied mathematics, mathematical physics, nonlinear sciences, mechanics, symbolic computations and neural network algorithms. He has also served as Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Applied Mathematics and Physics and Asian Journal of Mathematics and Physics.Dr. Ma has been recognized as a highly cited researcher by Clarivate Analytics since 2015, as one of the top 2% of scientists in the world by Stanford University since 2019, and as a leading mathematics scientist by Research.com since 2021. In 2018, he received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who?s Who, USA. He is also a member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society, USA.
