This presentation explores the application of AI-driven models in predicting, monitoring, and mitigating dust exposure risks among miners a persistent health challenge in the mining sector. Drawing on case studies and research from AngloGold Ashanti operations, we demonstrate how deep learning techniques can be used to proactively analyze real-time environmental and biometric data to address respiratory health threats. The talk also highlights cybersecurity considerations in safeguarding sensitive worker data and ensuring the reliability of AI-based monitoring infrastructure. By bridging mining engineering, AI, and cyber defense, this interdisciplinary approach offers a scalable blueprint for enhancing workplace safety in resource-intensive industries.
