Dr. Xiaodi Zhao is a Professor at the Research Institute of Forestry Policy and Information, Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF), China. She specializes in forestry economics, forest carbon accounting, ecological economics, and AI-assisted remote sensing for forest and grassland governance. She serves as Deputy Coordinator for several IUFRO initiatives, including the Task Force on “AI for Forest Science.” Dr. Zhao earned her Ph.D. in Forestry Economics and Management from Beijing Forestry University and has also served as a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She has published over 40 SCI-indexed journal articles and is recognized as a CNKI Top 5% Highly Cited Scholar, with several patents, software copyrights, and academic monographs.
