Abstract Title

“Sustainability & Green AI” Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the modern world through automation, data-driven decision-making, and digital innovation. However, behind the rapid advancement of AI lies an often-ignored concern: its environmental impact. The increasing use of large AI models, cloud computing, and data centres has significantly increased energy consumption, carbon emissions, and electronic waste, creating an urgent need for sustainable technological practices. This presentation on “Sustainability & Green AI” aims to provide a critical perspective on the balance between technological growth and environmental responsibility. The session will begin with the fundamentals of sustainability and Green AI, followed by a reality check on how excessive digital dependency and energy-intensive AI systems are affecting the planet. The presentation will further discuss the importance of responsible innovation, energy-efficient AI models, ethical technology adoption, and sustainable digital transformation. The session also highlights how Green AI can become a strategic approach for organisations, researchers, and policymakers to align technological advancement with global sustainability goals. Through practical insights, emerging trends, and real-world examples, the presentation encourages participants to rethink the future of AI , not only as intelligent technology, but as technology that is environmentally conscious, ethical, and sustainable for future generations.
