The Price of Precision: Ethical Challenges of Eyetracking and Advanced Tech Integration in Educational Research Abstract: In this presentation, I analyze the ethical challenges arising from the use of eye-tracking and advanced technologies in modern educational research. While these tools offer unprecedented insights into students' cognitive processes and attention, they raise serious questions about data privacy, the boundaries of surveillance, and informed consent. The presentation will discuss the asymmetry of power in tech-based research and propose specific guidelines to help balance the pursuit of empirical precision with the rigorous protection of students' agency and privacy.
