Biography

Dr. Ghulam Md Ashraf  is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Gulf Medical University, UAE, with extensive experience in teaching biochemistry, clinical biochemistry, and metabolism using innovative approaches such as problem-based and team-based learning. With prior academic experience at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, China, Dr. Ghulam Md Ashraf  has built a strong research portfolio in neurodegenerative diseases and neuroimmunology. Their work focuses on serotonin receptor signaling in protein aggregation disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia, as well as the development of next-generation therapeutics for multiple sclerosis, including recombinant interferon variants and nanomedicine-based drug delivery systems. Dr. Ghulam Md Ashraf  combines molecular research, computational design, and translational approaches to advance novel therapeutic strategies.

Abstract Title

My research focuses on serotonin receptor signaling in neurodegenerative diseases and the development of innovative therapies for multiple sclerosis, including engineered interferons and nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems.
