Biography

Dr. Luay Abdulwhid Shihab Zangor is an Iraqi academic, researcher, and educator currently serving as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at the College of Nursing, University of Basra, Iraq. He is also pursuing his Ph.D. studies at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He earned his M.Sc. in Computer Science (Network Specialization) from Agra University, India, in 2009, and holds a Diploma in Computer Systems from Basra Technology Institute, Iraq. Dr. Luay possesses extensive academic, administrative, and technical experience spanning information technology, computer science, and nursing education. Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions, including Director of the Information Technology Department at the College of Nursing, University of Basra, and previously served in various managerial roles at the House of Books and Publishing in Iraq. He has actively contributed to interdisciplinary research, authoring and co-authoring more than 60 research publications in international journals and conference proceedings. His scholarly work spans computer networks, wireless communications, information security, image processing, e-learning systems, healthcare informatics, nursing documentation systems, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence applications, and medical education. He also serves as a reviewer for several international scientific journals. Dr. Luay's research integrates computing technologies with healthcare and education, focusing on developing innovative digital solutions that improve healthcare delivery, nursing practice, information security, and educational effectiveness in modern learning environments
