Abstract Title

Title:  Artificial Intelligence in Project Controls: Transforming Planning, Scheduling, and Performance Management :Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the field of project controls by enhancing how projects are planned, monitored, and managed. Traditional project controls rely heavily on historical data, manual analysis, and periodic reporting, which can limit the ability to identify risks and respond proactively. AI-powered technologies enable project teams to leverage large volumes of project data to generate actionable insights, improve forecasting accuracy, and support data-driven decision-making.This presentation explores the application of AI in project controls, focusing on scheduling, cost management, risk assessment, and performance monitoring. It highlights how machine learning algorithms and predictive analytics can identify schedule delays, forecast cost overruns, optimize resource allocation, and detect project risks before they impact outcomes. Real-world examples and industry trends will demonstrate how AI is being integrated with project management and scheduling tools to improve project visibility and control. The discussion will also address implementation challenges, including data quality, system integration, and organizational readiness, while examining the evolving role of project controls professionals in an increasingly digital environment. By understanding AI's opportunities and limitations, project managers, schedulers, and project controls specialists can better position themselves to leverage emerging technologies and enhance project performance.
