Luís Miguel Cardoso holds a PhD in Modern Languages and Literatures, in the speciality of Comparative Literature from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He was Dean of the Higher School of Education and Social Sciences of the Portalegre Polytechnic University, Portugal, between 2010 and 2018 and Deputy Director of the Master in Media and Society. He was President of ARIPESE, Association of Reflection and Intervention in the Educational Policy of Higher Education Schools in Portugal (2015 – 2018).Professor at the Department of Language and Communication Sciences at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Portalegre Polytechnic University, Portugal, he has been a professor of Higher Education since 1995 and is also a researcher at the Centre for Comparative Studies at the University of Lisbon and CARE - Research Centre on Health and Social Sciences. His main areas of teaching and research are Language and Communication Sciences, Pedagogical Innovation, Literacies, Education, Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence, Digital Skills, and Literature and Cinema, under which published articles and book chapters and made presentations in Portugal and several countries, including USA, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Luxembourg,  France, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Georgia, Bulgaria, Armenia, Poland, Romania, Canada, Vietnam, Turkey, Ukraine, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Australia, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Mozambique, Panama, Japan, China, Czech Republic, India and Pakistan.He is a member of several international organizations and associations, as well as a member of the editorial board of international journals in the areas of Language and Communication Sciences, Comparative Literature, Literature and Cinema, Literacies and Education.
