Biography

Mohammed Abdul Aleem Taj is a Senior Technical Program Manager with over 20 years of global experience leading large-scale infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity transformation programs across banking, financial services, sovereign wealth, and technology organizations in the United States, UAE, and EMEA. He currently serves as a Senior Technical Program Manager at Silicon Valley Bank / First Citizens Bank, where he directs enterprise cloud migration, Zero Trust security, and M&A integration programs spanning identity, network, and data center transformation. His background includes leadership roles at Majid Al Futtaim Global Solutions and Mubadala Investment Company, and he has managed program portfolios of $25M-$40M while delivering ISO 27001-aligned security programs, Azure and AWS cloud migrations, and enterprise-wide M365 and identity modernization initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India, along with PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, ITIL 4, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, and Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) certifications.

Presentation Title: "Enterprise Cloud Transformation to Microsoft Azure: A Security-First, Risk-Managed Framework Proven Across Large-Scale Migrations" -    Abstract: Enterprise cloud migration has evolved from a simple infrastructure upgrade into a comprehensive strategic initiative demanding technical rigor, robust security governance, and organizational alignment. This presentation introduces a security-first, risk-managed framework for large-scale Microsoft Azure migrations, validated across enterprise implementations spanning diverse industries and geographies.   The framework begins with a three-layered discovery methodology combining automated tooling, stakeholder interviews, and dependency analysis to uncover the nearly one-quarter of critical dependencies that traditional discovery methods typically miss. It then applies data-driven performance baselining across a minimum 30-day analysis window to right-size compute, storage, and network resources ahead of migration.   Migration execution follows a phased approach, ranging from low-risk lift-and-shift to full modernization using Azure PaaS, containers, and serverless architectures, matched to workload complexity and business objectives. Cost optimization strategies, including Azure Hybrid Benefit and Reserved Instances, are shown to deliver 30-60% savings, while a Zero Trust security model built on Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, and automated compliance monitoring ensures identity-centric protection from day one, mapped to major regulatory frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.   Attendees will leave with a practical, field-tested blueprint for achieving 95%+ migration success rates while sustaining operational continuity, strengthening security posture, and building the organizational capabilities needed for long-term cloud success.
