Walid Barhoumi is a professor of computer science at the National Engineering School of Carthage, where he served as head of the Department of Computer Engineering from 2014 to 2017. He is Tunisia’s co-representative on the Council of Europe’s “Steering Committee for New and Emerging Digital Technologies (CDNET)” and a member of the National Sectoral Commission for Computer Science (CNSI). From 2009 to 2010, he served as Tunisia’s National Contact Point for ICT (ICT-NCP) under the FP7 Framework Program. Since 2015, he has served as Tunisia’s Digital-NCP under the Horizon 2020 program and, currently, under the European Commission’s Horizon Europe program. He also served as director of the Student Entrepreneurship Center (PEEC) at the University of Carthage from 2018 to 2022. He also served as director of the Department of Virtual Education at the University of Carthage from 2020 to 2021 and as director of the Career and Skills Certification Center (4C) at the University of Carthage from 2017 to 2020
