Professor Touhid Bhuiyan, PhD Professor Touhid Bhuiyan is an experienced academic, researcher, and cybersecurity professional with more than 28 years of experience in teaching, research, and the IT industry across the USA, Australia, and Bangladesh. His expertise spans Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Databases, Information Security, Trust Management, Social Networks, e-Health, and e-Learning. He currently serves as Professor and Assistant Director at the School of Information Technology, Washington University of Science and Technology, Virginia, USA. Previously, he held senior academic leadership positions, including Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Daffodil International University, Bangladesh. Professor Bhuiyan holds a PhD in Computer Science from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, with research focused on trust-based automated recommendation making. He has also earned an MSc in Computer Science and a BSc (Hons) in Computing & Information Systems. His professional experience includes serving as a National Consultant in Cyber Security for a collaborative project between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh. His work involved cybersecurity risk assessment, vulnerability analysis, security protocols, compliance, and cybersecurity training. He is the author of Trust for Intelligent Recommendation and Code War: The AI Revolution in Cybersecurity, and lead editor of Cyber Security and Computer Science, published by Springer. His publication record includes 225 publications, with research covering cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, health informatics, and online education management. Professor Bhuiyan has delivered keynote presentations on cybersecurity and AI, including “The Future of Cyber Security – Security Management and Orchestration” and “AI: The Double-edged Sword of Cybersecurity.” He has also served as a conference General Chair, Co-Chair, Session Chair, Publicity Chair, program committee member, and reviewer for numerous international conferences. His professional certifications include Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System Lead Auditor, and a Certificate in Cyber Security Risk and Resilience from the University of Oxford.
