Dr. Austin Alexander, PT, DPT, PhD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor and nationally recognized clinical anatomist, physical therapist, and health professions educator with extensive experience across physical therapy, physician assistant, nursing, and occupational therapy programs. He holds a PhD in Medical and Health Professions Education with a concentration in Contemporary Human Anatomy Education from Eastern Virginia Medical School, along with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Hardin-Simmons University. Dr. Alexander is a licensed Physical Therapist in Texas and has served as a founding lead clinical anatomist, curriculum designer, and subject matter expert for multiple graduate health programs. His work emphasizes clinically applied, multimodal anatomy education, integrating cadaveric dissection, virtual and augmented reality technologies, and evidence-based instructional design. He has developed innovative anatomy bootcamps, spiral curricula, and virtual cadaver laboratories, aligning learning objectives with accreditation standards while enhancing student outcomes and licensure success. Dr. Alexander is an active scholar and presenter at national and international conferences, a peer reviewer for the Journal of Anatomical Sciences Education, and a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Anatomy and the American Physical Therapy Association. His teaching, scholarship, and clinical background uniquely position him as a leader in contemporary anatomy education and interprofessional health sciences training. This presentation describes a multimodal anatomy laboratory model that strategically integrates Toltech Sectra tables, Toltech Presenter tables, Toltech virtual reality mobile workstations, Syndavers, von Hagens plastinated specimens, web based cadaver platforms, and high fidelity anatomical models within a unified graduate anatomy curriculum. Technologies are purposefully aligned with learning objectives to support spatial understanding, clinical correlation, and procedural reasoning while reinforcing foundational anatomical knowledge. By sequencing digital visualization, immersive simulation, and hands on anatomical exploration, learners transition from conceptual understanding to applied clinical decision making. This approach positions technology as a scaffold for clinical application rather than a replacement for traditional anatomical instruction. Outcomes demonstrate improved learner engagement, efficient laboratory utilization, and enhanced readiness for clinical skills training in graduate health professional programs.
