Dr. Ong Tze Chin is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Malaya, and a former litigation advocate specializing in consumer protection law, competition law, and digital market regulation. She holds an LLB from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, and obtained her LLM and PhD from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She was called to the UK Bar by Gray’s Inn and later admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya Dr. Ong has extensive experience in international consultancy and policy development, particularly in ASEAN consumer protection frameworks, e-commerce regulation, IoT governance, and digital market competition. She has served as consultant and lead researcher for projects funded by organizations such as GIZ, the Wellcome Trust, Mitsubishi Research Institute, and the UK Office for Product Safety and Standards. Her research and publications focus on modern consumer protection challenges in digital economies, including e-commerce platforms, unfair commercial practices, AI governance, and online dispute resolution
