Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamoud Yahya Ahmed Mohsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of English Language and Literature, AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He holds a PhD in Postcolonial Literature in English from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and a Postdoctoral qualification from CRIM-UKM. His academic expertise spans postcolonial literature, ecocriticism, ecofeminism, and Islamic literature. He has published extensively in Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals on topics including ecopostcolonial reading of Palestinian poetry, green resistance, eco-political discourse, and the intersection of literature with environmental and cultural identity. He has supervised numerous PhD and Master's students, serves on multiple editorial boards, and is actively involved in research projects funded by national and international sponsors. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Post DS51 position at Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) and has previously served as Associate Professor and Dean at Hodeidah University, Yemen

Abstract Title : Women, Ecology, and Empowerment in Southeast Asian Literature: Re-imagining Gender Equity and Sustainable FuturesAbstract : Southeast Asian Literature can move beyond representing an imaginative space for re-imagining gender equity, ecological consciousness and future sustainable social transformation. The Women's struggles for Agency and their search for place, environment and cultural belonging remain central themes in Southeast Asian literature. This keynote is aimed to highlight how women serve as icons of resilience, empowerment, ecological awareness and future transformative change in the whole region as represented in selected Southeast Asian literary narratives. Using postcolonial ecocriticism and ecofeminist approaches, the discussion will highlight the solid interconnected relationships between women, environment and power. It will further shed light on the ways women's connections with home, land, memory and the natural world can generate alternative forms of future change and transformation within the diverse social and ecological contexts of Southeast Asia. By bringing literary narratives into dialogue with contemporary arguments on women's empowerment and sustainability, the present keynote may propose that the literary narratives offer a significant cultural resource for envisioning more equitable human relationships, more responsible engagements with the environment and more sustainable futures in Southeast Asia and beyond
