Abstract Title

Abstract:

Empowering Women in the Age of AI: From Digital Skills to Leadership and Impact

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming how we learn, work, lead, and create opportunities. Yet, as AI becomes increasingly embedded across industries and professions, an important question remains: how can we ensure that women are not merely users of emerging technologies, but active contributors and leaders shaping their future? This sharing explores women’s empowerment in the age of AI through three interconnected dimensions: access, advancement, and leadership. Access begins with strengthening digital and AI literacy and ensuring that women from diverse backgrounds have opportunities to engage confidently with emerging technologies. Advancement requires moving beyond technical skills towards employability, industry exposure, professional networks, mentoring, and continuous learning that enable women to translate digital capabilities into meaningful career opportunities. Leadership represents the next critical step empowering women to influence how AI is designed, implemented, governed, and used across society. Drawing from perspectives in higher education, technology, employability, and industry engagement, the presentation highlights the shared responsibility of universities, industry, policymakers, and professional communities in creating inclusive pathways for women. Ultimately, empowering women in the age of AI is not simply about closing a digital skills gap; it is about enabling women to participate, lead, influence, and create meaningful impact in an AI-driven world.
