Abstract Title

The Physics of Cosmological Red Shift and Pair Production. Prior published work by this author has demonstrated that the cosmological red shift (interpreted as evidence for an expanding universe) is not due to a special relativistic doppler red shift but is due to the Induced Electric Dipole Red Shift (IEDRS). A photon leaving a fusion object (star, galactic nucleus, quasar) passes over astronomical distances through the non-uniform electric field surrounding the star causing the red shift. On an atomic scale, the exact same process occurs when a photon of light with sufficient energy passes close to a large nucleus with a large concentrated non-uniform electric field causing the photon pair (electron and positron) to split. This is also due to the IEDRS. This talk demonstrates how these two previously unrelated processes are related.
