Dr. Rawaa Ahmed Faris Al-Saaday is an Assistant Professor at the University of Baghdad – Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies and an Editorial Board Member of PLOS ONE. With over 15 years of academic and research experience, her expertise spans laser applications, nanotechnology, advanced sensing systems, environmental sustainability, and climate action. Dr. Al-Saaday has published extensively in international Q1 and Q2 journals and has contributed to interdisciplinary research in medical technologies, environmental applications, and sustainable innovation. She is actively involved in climate resilience and sustainable development initiatives in collaboration with UN-Habitat, focusing on climate change adaptation, environmental awareness, sustainable urban development, and the empowerment of women and youth in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She also serves on the Administrative Committee of the Arab Association for Nanotechnology Sciences under the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils and is an international evaluator for the QS Sustainability Ranking. Her work reflects a strong commitment to integrating scientific research, advanced technologies, and community engagement to promote sustainability, resilience, and scientific excellence.
