Arachnology in Veterinary Medicine: Ticks, Mites, and Animal Health
This session focuses on the role of ticks, mites, and other medically important arachnids in veterinary medicine, animal production, and wildlife health. It will explore ectoparasitic infestations, tick-borne diseases, mange, and other mite-associated conditions affecting domestic and farm animals. The session will also address diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and integrated parasite control strategies. Emerging challenges such as acaricide resistance and climate-driven changes in parasite distribution will be discussed. Contributions on veterinary dermatology, host–parasite interactions, molecular diagnostics, and One Health approaches are also encouraged.
Environmental health and veterinary medicine
This session will explore the connections between environmental factors and animal health, with a focus on how pollution, climate change, contaminated water and soil, toxic substances, and environmental hazards can affect animal health and disease risks. It will also address veterinary approaches to environmental risk assessment, disease prevention, animal welfare, food safety, and sustainable animal production. The session will highlight One Health approaches that integrate animal, human, and environmental health for healthier and more sustainable communities.
